Vitamins are needed for proper functioning of your body. Deficiency in certain vitamins like vitamin A have found to be causes of acne. Perhaps the most noted vitamin is vitamin A, since accutane originates from vitamin A. I shall summarize how each vitamins assist in acne treatment.

Vitamin A
Vitamin A works by promoting tissue renewal on our skin. This means that they help to remove  dead skin cells on pores. Dead skin cells on pores can easily clogged pores and hence, block sebum from releasing. Vitamin A also help to reduce sebum production. Do not take more than 10,000 IU of vitamin A daily, too much is toxic to your body.

Vitamin B
Firstly, I do not recommend taking mega dosage of vitamin B. Vitamin B are needed to maintain body functions and is needed to maintain clear skin tone. Once vitamin B daily requirement is met, the excess amount of vitamin B is not going to help in your body. In fact, excessive vitamin B might become toxin. Excessive Vitamin B can be seen from green urination(don’t be afraid, it’s alright). If you really want to take vitamin B as supplement, than you can consider taking vitamin B complex as a whole. Vitamin B works hand in hand together, if you take mega dosage on one specific vitamin B type, it will cause deficiency in other types of vitamin B.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a antioxidant and it helps reduce free radicals in your body. Free radicals can cause skin damage and is one of the causes of skin disorder like wrinkles and acne. The detox effect from vitamin C helps to remove toxins off our body, which allows livers to concentrate on hormonal balance. Read more about vitamin C.

Vitamin E

I would say vitamin E works much better for acne scars than acne. Vitamin E are especially effective against free radicals. Vitamin E also helps to regulate the level of vitamin A, doing so, it will prevent potentially toxicity effects on cells. Even though deficiency of vitamin E will  not cause any disease, but it will cause dry skin. I give Vitamin E thumbs up for acne treatment, two thumbs up for acne scar treatment.
