Some people says that acne is a skin disease, while others says that it is a hormonal disease. There is no doubt that hormones plays a big part in acne causes. In fact, I personally thinks that if you are not able to ensure hormonal balance, you are very likely to be stuck with acne forever.

  Here is how hormones can cause acne. Androgen, a male sex hormones that is found in both male and female, facilitates your sebaceous glands. Hormonal imbalance will cause overactive sebaceous glands to produce excessive sebum, and excessive sebum will cause acne. Read more about acne cause.

The reason why teenagers starts to get acne during puberty is due to hormonal imbalance. Puberty means a hormonal change in your body. Treating acne for teenagers is not easy as their body is constantly undergoing hormonal imbalance.

Do you know that the proportion of women with adult acne is 25% more than men with adult acne? Why is it so? Yes, hormonal imbalance. Unfortunately for women, because they undergo menopause and pregnancy, which will cause hormonal imbalance, they are more likely to be hit with acne. Now can you feel the impact of hormones on acne?

Treatment for hormonal acne
Many people with hormonal acne have realize that topical over-the-counter treatment don’t work for them. That is pretty expectable, since topical treatment are not working on the ROOT of hormonal acne. Hormonal acne are cause by hormones, not bacteria, not clogged pores. If you use topical treatment to kill bacteria, unclog pores and hope that your hormonal acne is going to be gone, than you are WRONG.
